A little innovation can make a big difference

Prevent tissue loss after immediate implant placement Geistlich Bio-Oss® Collagen 50 mg has been developed especially for filling the gap in immediate implant placement.
November 16, 2020

Immediate implant placement typically results in a void between the buccal bone wall and the implants inserted.1 Implants alone, placed without preventive regenerative measures into fresh extraction sockets, cannot maintain the ridge volume.2,3 Studies show that after one year, 22% of the ridge width and 1.7 mm of the ridge height are lost.2

Fill the gap: A shield for success

In a study by Cardaropoli et al., filling the peri-implant gap with Geistlich Bio-Oss® Collagen and Geistlich Bio-Gide® preserved 92% of the original ridge width2 and resulted in better soft tissue and bone tissue outcomes than immediate implants alone.1
