Ceremonial presentation of an award to Geistlich Pharma

Today, Friday, Geistlich Pharma was to collect the 2014 IHZ (Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Central Switzerland) Innovation Award. The pioneering products, Geistlich Mucograft® and Geistlich Mucograft® Seal, were chosen as winners out of 23 projects.

Some 180 guests from business and politics gathered for the ceremonial presentation of the 2014 Innovation Award.  In her speech, Prof. Ursula Graf-Hausner recognised the pioneering products, Geistlich Mucograft® and Geistlich Mucograft® Seal, as a breakthrough in gum regeneration. In his speech, Paul Note, CEO of Geistlich Pharma, outlined the Geistlich vision of an improved quality of life due to regenerative medicine. He said the following about the outstanding products: “The path was full of obstacles but brings us a major step forward towards our vision.” The Central Swiss Innovation Award also honours the commitment of Dr. Peter Geistlich, who died in July 2014. Chairman of the Management Board, Dr. Andreas Geistlich, reminded us of the importance of attractive basic conditions for SMEs as a pre-requisite for innovation.

Pioneering product – the result of many years of expertise

The achievement recognised by the 2014 Innovation Award is based both on many years of expertise and also on international co-operation with researchers and clinicians. As a Swiss family company with a history stretching back more than 160 years, Geistlich Pharma has always pursued a sustainable scientific path in research and development. This is the third time that Geistlich Pharma has won the IHZ Innovation Award.  The previous times were in 1994 and 2006.
